Elizabeth McKee — Founder and Director
Lizzie is a behavioural scientist with a background spanning psychology, foreign policy, serious sexual and violent crime, social research, and policing. She previously led the UK Foreign Office's Behavioural Science function, applying behavioural science to complex challenges including online harms of disinformation and radicalisation. She is passionate about using behavioural science for social impact, tackling root causes of problems, and supporting rather than stigmatising children in their sexual and social development.
Ruth Langdon — Research and Social Media
Ruth Langdon is a public health researcher with a particular interest in children and young people's mental health, online safety and digital harm prevention. She holds a Master of Public Health from UCL, where her dissertation focused on UK children and young people’s mental health preparedness for future pandemic-related disruption, with a focus on inequalities, prevention and system resilience.
Bron Bury — Funding
Bron is seasoned philanthropy manager, with seven years' experience in the NGO space. His background includes working with award-winning organisations and he is skilled at stewarding relationships for meaningful, long-term partnerships. Bron joined The Yellow Wood Project because of his belief that as technology becomes ever-increasingly embedded in all aspects of everyday life, it is more important than ever before to help tackle online harms at an early stage but remains an under-served space.
Molly Brown — Research and Social Media
Molly is a postgraduate student finishing a masters in anthropology and politics. She joined Yellow Wood motivated by her own online experiences to help raise awareness of digital safety.
Theodore Hunt — Research
Theo holds a BA in Philosophy and a Master's in International Law and Global Justice, where he received the International Law Prize for the highest academic standing in his programme. His research explores the intersection of ethics, law and global policy. His interest in The Yellow Wood Project grew from his study of the Philosophy of Sex and a commitment to addressing sexual violence, exploitation and bodily autonomy.
Ellie Wood — Research
Having recently completed an MSc in Educational Psychology, following a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Counselling and Psychotherapy, Ellie has a keen interest in child and adolescent development, mental health, behaviour, and the wider social influences that shape young people's experiences. This passion led her to engage in research focused on understanding the impact of online harms and exploring strategies to promote positive developmental outcomes.
Archie Wilson — Research
Archie is a psychology student and mental health crisis volunteer. He chose to volunteer for The Yellow Wood Project to help conduct robust, data-driven research needed to inform and drive real systemic change.
Isabelle Robson — Research
Isabelle has a background in developmental psychology and worked with children and young people in multiple capacities, gaining first-hand insight into the developmental and behavioural challenges young people face. She joined The Yellow Wood Project to combine her research skills with practical experience to help protect young people in an ever-evolving digital world.
Advisory Board:
Professor Derek Perkins
Derek Perkins is a Chartered and Registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with extensive experience working with sexual and violent offending across prison, mental health, community and online settings. He is Visiting Professor of Forensic Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London, and Co-director of the onlinePROTECT research group, which focuses on internet-related sexual offending. Derek has published widely on forensic psychology, sexual offending, sexual homicide, online sexual offending and forensic mental health, and regularly presents at international professional conferences. He supports Yellow Wood's focus on early identification and prevention, recognising the importance of addressing risk and harm before sexual abuse and exploitation occur.
Amy Glover
Amy has worked in the domestic and sexual violence sector for over 15 years, across frontline, leadership and trustee roles. She has designed, led and evaluated services for both victim-survivors and perpetrators of domestic and sexual abuse, giving her a broad and practical understanding of effective intervention. She is currently Director of Services for Domestic Abuse at a charity supporting women and girls affected by abuse and adverse life experiences. Passionate about preventing violence against women and girls, Amy is increasingly focused on understanding and addressing its root causes. She believes early prevention initiatives are vital to reducing harm and is pleased to support the project as a member of Yellow Wood's Advisory Board.
Dr Kristina Curtis
Kristina is an internationally recognised behavioural scientist specialising in evidence-based digital behaviour change. With over a decade of experience spanning health psychology, human-centred design and digital health, she has led research and the development and evaluation of digital interventions across diverse populations. Kristina is the founder of a behavioural design consultancy and an Honorary Lecturer and Associate at the UCL Centre for Behaviour Change, where she contributes to teaching, supervision and research. Her expertise in prevention, behavioural science and digital technology brings valuable insight to our work at the intersection of behaviour, technology and online harms.
